Join us for a day of fun and learning on the beach and calm waters of Bantry Bay with different options to suit your class and age groups. Whether you are organising a school tour for a transition year, mainstream or assisted learning classes, we will work with you and and the school to ensure you all have a fantastic school trip with us.
We believe that everyone should have access to outdoor activities and have the opportunity to experience watersports on Bantry Bay. We understand the school curriculum and the requirement of field trips, so we will work with you to achieve the type of school tour you want for your students.
We can incorporate kayaking, boat tours, walks to Bantry House or on Whiddy Island and even pizza on the beach! We can customise the day to suit your class age and any curriculum requirements.

A Coastal Classroom
We have developed our Coastal Classroom as part of our school tour offering but it can also be adapted to accommodate school trips that focus more on learning as part of the curriculum. As our company owner is also a teacher, we are passionate about learning about the marine environment and love to share this knowledge with you in a fun and interesting way.
Includes activities such as:

Who to Call & The Role of the Lifeboat

The Meaning of Different Flags on a Beach

What is a Lifebuoy & Why We Don’t Tamper with them

Learn about Marine Biology and the different types of fishing in Bantry Bay
For older children, we could also include topics such as:

Marine Pollution and keeping beaches clean

Learn about tides and lunar cycles

Duration of School Tours: 10am-2pm or we can tailor the tour to suit your needs
Location: Start/Finish at either The Railway Pier, Bantry or Bantry House, Bantry
What We Provide: Lifejackets, all equipment.
What to Bring: A picnic lunch, raincoat/suncream, change of clothes, a towel and a love for learning outside!

Pizza from The Brick Oven restaurant in Bantry can be arranged to be dropped to the beach during or after the activities. Please note that pizza is not included in any package price.

For any options including boat trips, an adult is required to drive the easy-to-use self-drive boats, (max. speed only 15km/h)

A safety boat will always accompany boat trips (please note, no extra passengers allowed in the safety boat)

For certain school tour options either a walk or own transport is required between Bantry House and Bantry Beach

Min. age required is 5 yrs

Lifejackets are provided and a safety tutorial is given for kayaks and the self-drive boats prior to use
